Adv. Neha Gurung, the Deputy Director and Director of Legal & Research from the Citizenship Affected People’s Network (CAPN) participated in the Asia Pacific Launch of the Global Atlas on Gender Discriminatory Citizenship Laws held in Thailand on 27th March 2026. The event brought together representatives from United Nations agencies, international funders and philanthropic organizations, civil society organizations, researchers, and legal experts from across the Asia Pacific region to discuss the persistent challenges and emerging opportunities in advancing gender-equal citizenship laws.

The launch provided a valuable platform for exchanging regional experiences, fostering collaboration, and highlighting ongoing legal and policy efforts to eliminate gender-based discrimination in nationality laws. Through engaging discussions and knowledge sharing, participants reaffirmed the importance of collective action in promoting equal citizenship rights and preventing statelessness. CAPN’s participation reflects its continued commitment to contributing to regional advocacy efforts and strengthening partnerships that support legal reform and the realization of gender-equal citizenship in Nepal and beyond. .
