In collaboration with Nationality for All (NFA) and the Global Campaign for Equal Nationality Rights (GCENR), CAPN, successfully organized the National Launch of the Global Legal Atlas on Gender Discrimination in Nationality Laws on March 30, 2026, in Kathmandu. The event brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including civil society organizations, researchers, media representatives, and affected individuals, creating a platform for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and collective reflection. Through presentations, interactive discussions, and the introduction of the Global Legal Atlas as an evidence-based tool, the program highlighted Nepal’s position within the global context of gender-discriminatory nationality laws and emphasized the need to bridge the gap between legal provisions and their implementation.

A key highlight of the event was the integration of lived experiences alongside research findings, reinforcing the human impact of discriminatory citizenship laws. Discussions underscored persistent structural and administrative barriers, the intersectional nature of citizenship challenges, and the urgent need for more inclusive and practical reforms. The event also emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to strengthen advocacy and accountability. By combining evidence, dialogue, and personal narratives, CAPN reaffirmed its commitment to advancing gender-equal citizenship and ensuring that the right to legal identity is recognized and upheld for all.
