Ms. Rai and her son’s story

Ms. Rai is a single mother, who legally adopted a child. In the process of securing citizenship for her son, they faced legal challenges. With support from CAPN, her son successfully obtained citizenship at the age of 19.

Ms. Balami’s story

Raised by a single mother, Ms. Ballami struggled to obtain citizenship. With FWLD’s assistance, she filed a case in the Supreme Court. CAPN concurrently engaged in visits with authorities, citing legal precedents. In October 2023, she secured citizenship through her mother, leading to the withdrawal of her writ petition.

Mr. Putuwar’s story

Mr. Putuwar, orphaned at a young age, faced citizenship challenges due to his parents’ demise. Armed with a land document from his late father, he sought CAPN’s help to navigate legal processes. After their intervention, at the age of 55, he successfully became a recognized citizen.

Ms. Mainali’s story

At the age of two, Ms. Mainali lost her father and was abandoned by her mother. When she turned 16 and applied for citizenship, she encountered administrative hurdles leading to denial of citizenship. CAPN advocated her case and succeeded in obtaining her citizenship at the age of 28.
