Sustained multistakeholder action, grounded in lived experience and supported by political will, remains essential to ending statelessness. At the Global Refugee Forum Progress Review (GRF-PR) held at UNHCR Headquarters in Geneva, a dedicated side event brought together diverse actors to advance dialogue on equal nationality rights and collective responsibility. CAPN’s Deputy Director, Adv. Neha Gurung, moderated the side event titled “Solutions to Statelessness: Multistakeholder Action to Achieve Equal Nationality Rights for All.” Her role highlighted the importance of centering lived experiences, strengthening civil society leadership, and fostering accountability-driven dialogue within global policy spaces. She also participated as part of the delegation of the Global Campaign for Equal Nationality Rights (GCENR), reflecting a shared commitment to amplifying affected voices and bridging policy discussions with lived realities. The event convened UN leadership, government representatives, civil society organizations, and individuals directly affected by statelessness, underscoring the power of collaborative, cross-sector engagement in addressing systemic nationality-based exclusion. While meaningful progress has been made, the discussions reaffirmed that sustained, inclusive action is necessary to ensure equal nationality rights for all and to prevent anyone from being left unseen or uncounted.
