CAPN’s Program and Advocacy Officer, Ms. Prasanna Nirmal Aryal, attended the Leadership and Peer Learning & Leadership Retreat held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from September 14–17, 2024. The retreat was co-organized by the Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion (ISI) and the Nationality for All (NFA) network, and brought together representatives from partner organizations including CAPN Nepal, Council of Minorities (Bangladesh), and Family Frontiers (Malaysia). Designed for both senior and emerging leaders, the retreat focused on strengthening values-based leadership, promoting organizational sustainability, and building solidarity among groups working to advance gender-equal nationality rights. The program featured rich peer learning sessions and interactive reflections on topics such as self-care and wellbeing facilitated by Minda Psychology, values-driven leadership, paralegal work, and fundraising strategies. The retreat provided a meaningful space for cross-organizational dialogue, knowledge exchange, and renewed commitment to the shared goal of ensuring equal citizenship rights and social justice. The insights and reflections gained from this experience will shape CAPN’s internal leadership development and organizational strategies moving forward. Strengthened by shared purpose and collective learning, CAPN remains committed to building a more just, inclusive, and equitable society.
