CAPN hosted a workshop on understanding citizenship and human rights, on April 27, 2024, at Dhokaima Café, with the enthusiastic participation of 4th-year law students from Nepal Law Campus. The event began with an engaging session that explored complex topics such as citizenship and nationality rights. This was followed by interactive group discussions where participants shared their insights on the legal challenges surrounding citizenship and explored the need for implementing much-needed reforms. A standout moment of the day was the screening of “Beyond the Barbed Wire” that offered a powerful and personal portrayal of human rights struggles, leaving a lasting emotional and thought provoking impact. The day concluded with an interactive myth busting session led by our knowledgeable facilitators. This session aimed to debunk prevalent misconceptions surrounding citizenship laws, fostering a deeper understanding among participants.

Overall, the workshop served as a catalyst for dialogue, enlightenment and empowerment. Participants left the event inspired and equipped, with the knowledge and motivation to drive meaningful change in the realm of citizenship and human rights advocacy.
