CAPN hosted a training program as part of its Sahayatri Initiative (the Citizenship Companion and Community Advocacy Program) in Budhanilkantha. It brought together nine dedicated participants for an immersive five-day learning journey, strengthening their capacity as community advocates and companions who can lead community advocacy and walk beside citizenship-affected individuals. The program blended reflection, skills-building, and connection. Participants explored communication, well-being, trust-building, and ethical standards of companionship, while also engaging in interactive sessions that encouraged dialogue, collaboration, and personal growth. The training created a supportive environment where participants and the CAPN team could learn from one another and build the foundation for meaningful community engagement. Throughout the program, participants were introduced to national and international legal frameworks related to citizenship, practical approaches to community advocacy, and essential documentation practices. The week culminated into an immersive experience where participants showcased their understanding of advocacy, companionship, and referral processes through role-plays and collaborative activities. The training concluded with a shared sense of purpose and readiness, equipping participants with deeper empathy, confidence, and practical skills to support citizenship-affected individuals and contribute to community-level change.
