A discussion on the Citizenship (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081 was held on 1 August 2025, jointly organized by सामाजिक लोकतन्त्रका लागि ऐक्यबद्धता नेपाल, CAPN, and HIDR.The event brought together Members of the House of Representatives, Provincial Parliamentarians, National Assembly members, and local government representatives. Adv. Tuladhar outlined the key proposed amendments, while CAPN presented powerful video testimonies of affected individuals, showing the real gaps in current citizenship laws and reinforcing the need for inclusive and constitutional reforms. Hon. Neema Giri, Parliamentarian from Lumbini Province, who moderated the event, also delivered the concluding remarks, stressing the urgency of passing the Bill along with additional amendments proposed by affected individuals and experts from HIDR and CAPN. The session concluded with an open discussion where government stakeholders shared their insights, reflections, and commitments regarding the proposed changes.
